I am a Mumbai-born writer, editor, and publishing professional with work and study experience in India, England, Spain, and the United States. I hold a BA in Creative Writing and Media Studies and an MA in Creative Writing from Edge Hill University in Lancashire, England, and an MA in Publishing and Writing from Emerson College in Boston, United States.
My publishing work experience includes stints with eminent, award-winning children’s publisher Candlewick Press, well-known independent publisher Godine, and on the organising committees for the Boston Book Festival, and the Boston Teen Author Festival. A few months after graduation, I was an affiliate faculty instructor with Emerson’s Writing, Literature, and Publishing (WLP) department for the Fall 2019 semester, designing the syllabus, building the course material, and teaching undergraduate course, Introduction to Book and Magazine Publishing (PB204-02).
Editorial
I am an experienced freelance editor of more than a decade, working across fiction and non-fiction, and across lengths (short stories, micro and flash fiction, articles, novellas, novels, collections).
One of my favourite places to be is at the intersection of storytelling, literature, and football. I worked as a senior editor and writer for Football Paradise, the international-award-winning website for longform football writing and art, for more than a decade, and as an editorial associate at Unusual Efforts with on their mission to support marginalised non-cis-male voices in the game and redefine what a “football expert” can look like.
I am also the co-founder and Executive Editor at Ladderworks, a New-York-based publishing company of picture books with the mission of enabling kids and youth to become entrepreneurs.
Writing
My fiction, non-fiction, poetry, essays and articles can be read in a number of journals and magazines. I write book reviews and other features, as well as conducts author interviews for publications such as Hindustan Times, the Hindu on Sunday, HT Brunch, the Rumpus, Strange Horizons, Write or Die Magazine, Tint Journal, the New Sunday Review Magazine and others.
Most recently, my fantasy short story, ‘Heartland’ was published in Between Worlds: The IF Anthology of New Indian SFF Vol 1 (Westland Books, 2025). The anthology has received numerous favourable reviews in trade magazines, newspapers, and SFF blogs, including Locus Magazine, with more than a handful of positive individual mentions about ‘Heartland’.
Past work includes my microfiction collection 55 Words (Underground Voices, 2015), my novelette, Summer Melody (Alien Buddha Press, November 2021), the self-published Pomegranate Summer (2022) and Ruby Whispers (2023). I write character-centric narratives that explore the nuances of human relationships, with currents of hope, humour, and magic running through and under them.
I am the creative writer for upcoming children’s picture book Ready, Set, Bubble! for Ladderworks Studio, on the theme of Equity in Sports, inspired by the real-life stories of Ashton Keys, Griffin Pinkow, Jenny Nguyen, Jon Holmes, and Nicole Shaia. The book is illustrated by Niall Guite, a Special Olympics athlete for Great Britain.
My passions and skill sets encompass a wide range of experiences and fields, but they share a common thread. I believe in the power of stories, in people’s right to tell their stories, in their right to have access to a community that will give them that.
[I currently live in Mumbai, India.]
